Create and Share Qlik Application Automation Templates
In Qlik™ Application Automation, you can now save your automation workflows as templates for others in your organization to use and build upon. Once you’ve designed your workflow for a particular task, right-click on the work page and choose Save as template – a window will pop up prompting you to add a name, description and a restricted image, as well as visibility status – choose Shared to make this automation available to other recipients.
When a user creates a new automation in Qlik™ Cloud Platform,
a template selector will be displayed, giving you access to a variety of predefined workflows. Choosing Shared from the menu on the left will display all templates shared by users in your shared workspace. Choosing a template will pre-populate your workspace with the automation blocks defined in the template – you can now make changes afterwards according to your needs. Shared application automation templates make it easy to share and proliferate the work of others, while reducing development time and providing an easy way to customize an existing workflow for your needs.

Catalog Improvements
The Qlik Sense™ SaaS catalog can now include data that is stored in relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and Snowflake increasing data reuse, visibility and governance while expanding the types of content that data engineers and stewards can manage and distribute. It also simplifies data use as data consumers no longer need to setup data connections as they can simply browse for the data they need within the catalog.

PDF Report Output Legibility Improvements
Qlik™ has introduced readability enhancements to the PDF report generated by Qlik Sense™ and Qlik™ Reporting Service, available within Qlik™ Application Automation
Qlik Sense™ themes used within a Qlik Sense™ – are now available with the Reporting Service – providing a custom and consistent look and feel in distributed reports. Resolution has also been increased to 300 DPI, providing a significant enhancement to text and images when zooming the PDF report output. In addition, report generation will be consistent in sheets that are configured as responsive, expanded or custom using appropriate pixel resolutions for Landscape and Portrait layouts.
When you manually download files and charts as PDF documents – you will notice that this has been standardized to A4 page size – with options to choose portrait or landscape along with 3 different scale options – Fill, Fit to Page and Fixed to Page. Each setting can be used to optimize PDF report results for different device screen sizes, chart proportions and white space reduction.

Qlik Sense™ Mobile Improvements
Qlik™ has refined the sheet navigation experience to take advantage of native mobile gestures. Users can now navigate to individual sheets by simply dragging sheet names to the top or tapping the current sheet along with a clear demarcation between private and public sheets. In-app sheets will display as “tiles” in the appropriate section for easier identification and navigation. While in a sheet, you can access a new landscape mode simply by rotating the device to a horizontal position, allowing all view objects to get the best possible layout – such as the browser-based display. This mode is also supported for individual graphic objects when put in full screen mode. We’ve also improved navigation to other connected apps and sheets from within the app, opening them in Qlik Sense™ Mobile instead of a separate web browser.

Chart – Level Scripting
Qlik™ introduces a powerful new capability that allows you to deliver and manipulate data directly into a chart object using a script. Chart Level Scripting allows users to modify the data set behind a chart using a subset of the Qlik™ scripting language, using techniques such as variables and loops. Rows and columns can be added or modified that were not in the original data set, allowing calculations that were previously not possible in graphical or variable expressions. Simply activate the chart scripting application, sub measures add the script to the script section – and along with the appropriate dimensions – you will see that the charts reflect the data provided by the script which can also be modified in real time using variables and expressions. It provides a new way to analyses your data, such as simulations and target searches.

Qlik™ has enabled all Qlik™ Application Automation users to trigger workflows through Qlik™ Cloud Services webhooks with a finer level of control. In addition, there is a new connector for Microsoft SharePoint, which provides another cloud storage option for workflow integration and file management.
With Qlik™ self-service subscription reporting, you can schedule delivery of your most important documents directly to your inbox – now with the ability to add more sheets to your subscription.
In Qlik Sense™ Mobile , flip-chart capability has been added to the tables, allowing for better visibility of underlying data. Users can see the precise values of each portion of the chart – the table is optimized for performance – it loads data super fast with infinite scrolling.

KPI Background colour (other KPI improvements)
Qlik™ introduces a simple enhancement to the KPI chart object style. KPI charts provide simple summary views of your data that help you track the performance of your metrics – better known as key performance indicators. In case you missed it – several style enhancements have been implemented over time, such as responsive behavior, a large icon library for conditional symbols, custom color schemes, and alignment options. Adding to these enhancements, there is now a style menu below the presentation tab that contains the ability to change the background color of the KPI. This can be a single color or conditional based on an expression, allowing you to customize the visibility of the most important information, alerting them to changes that may need attention.
